Find
Get back a clean list — company, role, date applied, days since — so you know exactly what needs a nudge

For each stale application, AI drafts a short professional follow-up email. Review, add the address, send.
Example output
Stale applications found: 3
Acme Corp — Head of Demand Gen — Applied 12 days ago

→ 3 follow-up emails drafted. Review, add recipient addresses, send.
What you need
- Any AI tool — ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini, or any chat interface
- Your applications list — a spreadsheet, CSV, or even a simple text list with company, role, date applied, and current status
How to do it
Step 1
Find your stale applications
Copy your job tracker data and paste it into your AI tool with this prompt. Replace the bracketed section with your actual list.
Here is my job application tracker. Today's date is [TODAY'S DATE].
[PASTE YOUR APPLICATIONS LIST HERE — columns: Company, Role, Date Applied, Status]
Please identify every application that:
1. Has a status of "Applied" or "No response"
2. Was submitted 7 or more days ago
List them in a table: Company | Role | Date Applied | Days Since Applied
Sort by days since applied, oldest first.
You can paste a CSV, copy-paste a spreadsheet, or just list them as plain text. The AI will parse it either way.
Step 2
Draft follow-up emails
For each stale application the AI identified, use this prompt to generate a follow-up email. Run it once per company, or batch them all in one go.
Draft a follow-up email for each of these stale job applications:
1. Company: [COMPANY NAME], Role: [ROLE TITLE], Applied: [DATE]
2. Company: [COMPANY NAME], Role: [ROLE TITLE], Applied: [DATE]
3. Company: [COMPANY NAME], Role: [ROLE TITLE], Applied: [DATE]
For each email:
- Subject line: "Following up — [Role Title] application"
- Keep it under 100 words
- Tone: direct, professional, not desperate
- Reference the role and date applied
- Express continued interest and ask about next steps
- End with a clear call to action
- Do not use filler phrases like "I hope this email finds you well"
Output each email as a separate block with a clear label.
Add a specific detail about the company or role before sending — something from their site or the job post. It takes 30 seconds and makes the email feel real.

Using Claude Code?
Skip all of the above. I built this as a native Claude Code skill — one command handles everything automatically. It reads your tracker, finds stale applications, and creates Gmail drafts for each one. No copy-paste.
Claude Code reads your applications.csv, identifies stale rows, and creates Gmail drafts automatically. Open Gmail, add recipient emails, and send.
Tips for better results
- Run it weekly. 7 days is the right threshold. Once a week on Monday is a good cadence.
- Keep your tracker updated. Once you hear back or move to interview, update the status so it stops showing up in follow-up runs.
- Personalize before sending. The AI drafts a clean base. Add one detail from the job post or their site before you hit send.
- Pair with job inbox scanning. Scan your inbox for new responses first, then run follow-up on what's still quiet. Use the Job Inbox Radar skill for that step.
