Move $240 to savings auto-transfer. โš  Subscriptions: Audit active vs used โ€” $310 is high for one person. Fix this week: Cancel anything unused in 30+ days. TOP 3 PRIORITIES 1. Cap dining to $400/mo โ†’ saves $240/mo, adds 3% to savings rate 2. Run subscription audit โ†’ potential $80โ€“120/mo recovered 3. Increase savings transfer to $1,400 to hit 16% rate SUMMARY Solid foundation โ€” housing and groceries are well controlled. Dining and subscriptions are the two leaks worth closing this month. Fixing both gets you to an 18% savings rate without changing anything structural.

# Finance Tracker โ€” Monthly Finance Check-In

Run a monthly finance check-in. Analyze income, expenses, savings rate,
and spending vs benchmarks. Return a health score, spending breakdown,
money leaks, and top 3 action priorities.

## How to use
Run /finance-tracker and I will prompt you for numbers, OR paste a table
or CSV directly after the command.

## What to analyze
1. Calculate savings rate and compare to 20% benchmark
2. Score each spending category against standard benchmarks
3. Give a 0โ€“100 health score across 5 dimensions: savings rate, debt
load, housing ratio, surplus cushion, discretionary discipline

## Personalization
If user provides household type (single, couple, family) or goals
(pay off debt, save for house, build emergency fund), adjust the
analysis and priorities to match their situation.

Variable income: flag months off from average and note the variance.

## Getting started
Ask for: monthly gross income, and amounts for each spending category.
Or: read from a pasted CSV or table the user provides.
Step 2
Run it
Open any Claude Code session and type /finance-tracker. Claude will prompt you for your numbers or you can paste them directly.
EXAMPLE โ€” paste your numbers directly
/finance-tracker

Income: $8,500/month
Household: Couple, no kids
Goal: Build 6-month emergency fund

Housing: $2,100
Groceries: $580
Transportation: $720
Utilities: $165
Subscriptions: $310
Dining/Entertainment: $640
Healthcare: $200
Debt payments: $350
Savings: $600

You can also point Claude at a file: "here's my spending export" and paste a CSV, or say "read my Finance_Tracker.xlsx" if it's in your working directory.
